Three Vanilla Pound Cake

Today, I want to share with you the recipe for a delicious vanilla pound cake! For this cake, we use three different kinds of vanilla; vanilla sugar, vanilla bean and vanilla extract providing a delicious and delicate flavor to the pound cake!

For the cake:
1.5 sticks unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup (1.5 serving) Alsa vanilla sugar 
1 vanilla bean
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1.5 cups unbleached cake flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

For the vanilla simple syrup:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 vanilla bean, split and scraped

The Cake (part 1)
1. Butter one loaf pan and preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2. Whisk the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until pale and fluffy. Cut and scrape the vanilla bean,  remove all the seeds and add it to the butter/sugar mix along with the vanilla extract. Add the eggs one by one and use a whisk to combine until the batter is uniform. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder, and add it into the rest of the batter. Mix gently until the batter is just homogenous. Bake for about ~1hr.

3. While the loaf is baking, you can start making the syrup. In a small saucepan, dissolve the sugar in the water over medium heat. Add the vanilla beans and seeds and stir to loosen the seeds. Remove pan from heat as soon as all the sugar has been dissolved.

The Cake (part 2)
4. When the cake is ready, remove it from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes. Afterwards, place the cake onto a rack and brush it generously with the syrup on all sides; top, bottom, sides! As the cake cools down, you can brush the cake one more time. If you like vanilla, the more syrup the better!

Quick tip: Don't forget to check the cake towards the end of the baking time with a toothpick. If the batter doesn't stick to it, the cake is ready.
