Parisian Hard Candies

Evade to Paris this summer with the most traditional French candies. These hard triangle candies remind us of the delicious and flavorful candies of our childhood. Take one or a few: the flavors are assorted, and all exquisite. And once you're done, you'll love reusing the tin with the Paris skyline to store small pieces of jewelry, or hair accessories just like French women do.

Berlingots as they are called are hard triangle candies with white stripes on them. Funnily enough, they were first sold as medicine in pharmacies in the 19th century. Originally made with caramel, they were first made with candied fruit syrups in 1844 and became available in traditional candy shops and chocolatiers.

5 steps are needed to create this little jewel of a French candy! Cooking the sugar with its flavors, then spreading, kneading, and finally cutting the candies with a special tool to give them their triangle shape. You can also recognize traditional berlingot candies by their white stripes! They are made by adding cooked sugar whipped for a long time until it becomes opaque.
