Calissons are traditional French sweets from the town of Aix-en-Provence in the South of France. They are made with a paste of candied fruits (particularly melons and orange) and almonds, which is topped by a delicate layer of hard icing. Calissons always have a special diamond shape meant to resemble an almond.

Since 2002, the term “Calissons of Provence” is even a regulated term by the French government! Each manufacturer must respect the traditional recipe to be able to call their treats a Provence calisson, or they may have to pay a very hefty fine. With our calissons, you can rest assured that you’ll be enjoying one of the most traditional French candies.
